Kidney stones are aggregation of chemical substances dissolved in urine. When the concentration level of these substances reaches a particular point, they crystallize into a permanent form and form stones.
The most common type of stone contains calcium in combination with either oxalate or phosphate.
Kidney stones vary in size; sometimes, these are too small to be felt or noticed in the urinary tract. Otherwise, these can be as large as a golf ball.

The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act recognizes the importance of providing safe, affordable, accessible and acceptable abortion services to women who need to terminate an unwanted pregnancy and legalizes abortion on therapeutic, eugenic, humanitarian or social grounds. It also aims to regulate and ensure access to safe abortion care and also defines ‘when’, ‘where’ and ‘by whom’ abortion can be performed.
Various methods of Medical Termination of Pregnancy are available to patients during the initial weeks of pregnancy. The earlier the termination of pregnancy is done, the safer is it for the women. Under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, abortion in India can be performed until the 20th week of pregnancy. If the pregnancy is earlier than seven weeks, the termination of pregnancy can be done with oral medication. The age of the pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last period. If you’re not sure how long you’ve been pregnant, you may need an ultrasound scan to confirm this.
